What old dogs know:

  1. Time is precious, waste it wisely
  2. Wag with abandon and be fearless of the future
  3. Always hold out for another cookie

Pet photographer Pauline Zonneveld lovingly captures the singular wit, wisdom and whimsy that only a senior pooch possesses. With quiet courage, dignity and determination, these old souls offer timeless lessons on aging gracefully, living fully and loving unconditionally. Pauline’s portraits are a joyous celebration of lives well lived and a poignant reminder that life is better with a good old dog by your side.

Celebrate your good old dog. Become part of the project! To learn more about how you and your senior pup can participate ….

Mother + Mimosa + Furry child

Let’s celebrate mother’s day a little different this year. Offer mom a photo shoot with her furry child. We’ll surprise her with a delicious mimosa, and a photo session that makes her look and feel beautiful, appreciated and loved. We will photograph mom and dog together and separate as well. It’s will be an unforgettable experience. I know mom will be very happy. For sure.

ZIPPER by pauline zonneveld for blog

Zipper is a fantastic boxer. Here you see him with his care taker and trainer Brittany. Zipper is so much more than a fantastic pet. He is an important asset to the community where he brings joy in care centers and libraries where he listens to children reading stories to him. You go Zipper.

In bed with Rufus

Rocky and Amy

Rocky and Amy

Are you sharing your bed with your furry friend(s). We do and LOVE it.

If you do too, here is something to consider ….. It’s my new project and it is called: IN BED WITH RUFUS.

Now you can have a lasting memory of this special bonding time and smile every time you see yourself all warm and cosy together with your fabulous dog.

Bring the dog and your family to the studio on Sunday December 15. There will be a bed for you to cuddle up in and I will make a smashing photo of all of you together. You are encouraged to bring your own blanket or duvet and it will add even more to this special scene.

There are only a limited number of sessions so call (503 347 7842) or e-mail now and reserve your spot today. $ 95 (max. 4 subjects – extra subjects $ 25 each). Prints are additional.

I guarantee you will remember this photo session forever.

Trail Blazers event at Sacajawea dog park

Last week, the Portland Trail Blazers teamed up with Banfield Pet Hospital® and Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) to provide and celebrate major renovations to one of Portland’s dog parks, PP&R’s Sacajawea Park, located in Northeast Portland at NE 75th Avenue and Roselawn Street. About 30 volunteers gathered to make improvements to the park and I was there with an outdoor photo booth to photograph all the dogs that had come to play and celebrate. The event is part of an annual dog park renovation program so if your dog park could use some extra care, make it known to the organizers.

good old dog in O magazine

A few months ago I was told that O magazine was interested in featuring the Good Old Dog project. What at first was to be a 1/3 page feature turned quickly into a full page. It is such an honor. Am over the moon with how people resonate with the project and these old souls. Thanks Oprah.

So what do you do when you love the outdoors but have allergies? Griffin’s caretaker bought him a special suit and now he can play and be happy.

Good old dog project is in the news

News flash!….. The good old dog project has made the news.
Today my project is featured in the Oregonian Living section as well as a video on-line
It is so exciting to share my passion for this work. I continue to marvel at what transpires each time I focus my lens capturing these incredibly beautiful animals. I have been blessed with talent, your friendship and support and the ‘need’ to chronicle old dogs.
Think of me when you decide to photograph your pets (or human family of course).
Please share me with your friends via Facebook.
When you are in the neighborhood, drop by the studio at 537 SE Ash. There is always something new to view and would love to catch up with you over a cup of coffee.
Enjoy the read!
Fondly, Pauline

Cubby – service dog

Cubby was adopted  only 4 years ago when his guardian needed a companion and a service dog. While Cubby had no experience in that field, he knew instinctively what was needed of him. Now, an elderly dog with medical issues himself, he needs special attention which is offered in spades.

Miss Arete – rhodesian ridgeback

Miss Arete is an elderly lady who has had a tough life in Georgia. Thankfully, she is now back in good hands and resides in Oregon. This girl deserves nothing but the best. What a gentle soul, she is.
